Wiggins-Thomas To Return For Visit Of Ilkeston

3 years ago By Simon Ball-McQueen

Evo-Stik Premier Division side and Derbyshire-based neighbours Ilkeston FC are the visitors to Greenwich Avenue on Tuesday evening.

United manager Martin Carruthers will be looking to build on Saturday’s encouraging 3-1 win at Gedling Miners Welfare and should be able to name a predominately first team squad, with last season’s top-scorer Reuben Wiggins-Thomas looking set to make his first pre-season appearance, after recovering from injury, whilst Stuart Hendrie Rob Darkin, Dan Fletcher, Fabian Smith and Rob McCormick will be back in contention, after missing out on last weekend’s action.

Former Hartlepool and Notts County midfielder Gavin Strachan is now in charge of the Robins and should bring a strong squad to face Basford, with their league opener against Skelmersdale United less than two-weeks away.

Kick-off at the Avenue is at 7.45pm and admission is £5 for adults, £3 concessions and £1 for Under-16s. Make sure you’re there to cheer the boys on, as the start of the season draws ever closer.

Don’t forget that the new 2015/16 Adidas replica jerseys are now available to purchase from the club shop inside Greenwich Avenue and prices have been set at just £18.50 for short-sleeved and £21 for long-sleeved. These shirts will sell out, so make sure you grab one while you can!
