Basford Re-Sign Anderson From Crawley Town

3 years ago By Simon Ball-McQueen

Basford United are delighted to announce the re-signing of talented winger Blair Anderson to a one-year contract.

Anderson was snapped up from Basford mid-way through last season by League One side Crawley Town and featured in their first team squad for the remainder of last season.

However, with Crawley’s manager Dean Saunders departing during the summer, Anderson was left in limbo, with United officials working hard to get the flanker to return to Greenwich Avenue. This then culminated in the 23 year-old agreeing a contract, after Thursday night’s friendly draw with Ilkeston.

An exciting midfield talent, Anderson shone last season for Basford and attracted attention from a host of league clubs including Leicester City, Notts County and Wolves before sealing a move to the West Sussex side.

Blair should be in contention for a place in the squad for today’s final pre-season friendly, as Brighouse Town visit the Avenue. Kick-off is at 3pm and admission is priced at £3 for adults and £1 concessions
