Following discussions this week with manager Martin Carruthers, it was clear that Kieran wanted regular first team football which was something that could not be promised at Basford.
With the emergence of youngsters Aidan Austin and Harry Wakefield as well as the quicker than expected return of Courey Grantham added the experienced Rob Duffy and the league leading scorer Liam Hearn then Carruthers took the difficult decision to release Kieran .
Commenting the United manager was full of praise for the contribution of Kieran over the last two seasons:
"I would like to wish Kieran all the best and thank him for his contribution to Basford, he is a great lad with an infectious character and leaves with nothing but praise from us".
Carruthers' thoughts were echoed by chairman Chris Munroe who also thanked Kieran for his contribution both on and off the pitch. The club wish the striker all the best for the future and he will always be most welcome at Basford.
With AFC Stamford pushing hard to cement a playoff spot then no doubt they will be delighted with this signing. They still have to face all the clubs chasing Basford for an automatic promotion spot abd were keen to get Kieran on board for these games.
