Basford United Community 6 -2 Beeston
Basford made two changes for the Friday night visit of Beeston welcoming back Max Foster and Gregory Moulopoulos.
Beeston started the game the better side and found themselves in the lead on 8 minutes with a well worked goal and after previously being knocked out the cup by the same side alarm bells were already ringing.
This young Basford side stuck the game plan though and were soon on level terms when Alex Goodall ran across the box before firing a left footed effort low to the keepers left with 12 minutes gone.
Basford went ahead on 25 minutes when Ewan Hill was played in and remained ice cool to round the goalkeeper and set himself before lifting the ball over the covering defender on the goal line.
Basford were having an excellent period of play and on 29 minutes scored the goal of the game. A Beeston attack was superbly defended by Foster and Tomlinson and in 5 passes Basford hit Beeston on the counter with Gregory Moulopoulos breaking clear and rolling the ball passed the keeper from 18 yards out.
Basford weren’t finished there and capped off an excellent 45 minutes when 16 year old Ewan Hill grabbed his second and Basford with another great finish on 40 minutes giving the side a healthy half time lead.
Half times can often hamper teams who are playing with rhythm and this was certainly the case as Basford came out looking nervy as Beeston threw everything forward.
On 51 minutes Beeston made there pressure tell as a ball out wide was poorly defended allowing Beeston forward Hallford to plant a free header goal-wards which was excellently saved by Luca Wagstaff but the loose ball was poked home by Beeston substitute Buxton.
With Beeston Fc throwing everything forward looking for a third Basford increased their lead on the hour mark when another excellent counter attack was once again finished off by Gregory Moulopoulos.
Basford wrapped up the game on 63 minutes when Alex Goodall added his second after some great work from the excellent Joe Wroughton out wide.
This young side who were once again an average age of 18 years old on the night defended brilliantly for the last 20 minutes and were well worth the three points with another excellent victory.

Southwell City Youth 1 - 3 Basford United Community Trees U13
Goalscorers: Jayden-Samuel(32), Faris(49), Orlando(55)⚽⚽⚽
Man of the match: Orlando
Into the Semi-finals!
The Trees travelled to Southwell for their Quarter-final tie. Conditions were extremely windy making it a tough challenge straight away.
Trees started well against the wind, playing football from the back. George playing out from goal kicks, Micheal, Kesharn, Bright and Orlando trying to work it forward. Unfortunately, against the wind it was always going to be difficult. Southwell caught us out to take an early lead after 5 minutes to make it 1-0.
The Trees never gave up though. Trying to play football throughout, Riley and Kacper shown great work rate in Central midfield. Jack, JD, Jayden-Samuel and Tyrelle all tried to get us upfield in tough conditions.
After a while Faris and Jepthe came on to try and change the game. The defence held off Southwell in the windy conditions and we were rewarded. 3 minutes before half time Kesharn whipped a cross shot into the box, Tyrelle was brave in his challenge with the goalkeeper which allowed the ball to go through to Jayden-Samuel to make it 1-1.
In the second half Basford had the wind on our side and made it count. A fantastic passing move lead to Faris making it 2-1 to the Trees with a great finish from outside the box where he whipped the shot in off the post.
Mckenzie then came off the bench to play centre back and put in a outstanding performance, he played some superb passes and was strong at the back.
Orlando put in a man of the match performance today. This was clearly shown when he went on a run from right back, past a few players and slotted home his first goal for the Trees to make it 3-1.
A fantastic performance from everyone today, following on from last week it was hard fought win.
Man of the match today was Orlando for his work rate throughout and his goal. It could've been anyone today but well done boys!
Semi-Final here we come! - From Coach Alex and Deji

Arnold Town 1 -1 Basford United Under 10
Basford Under 10s Community had a tough away game against a very good Arnold Town side.
Not the best conditions to play a game in with a strong wind blowing straight across the pitch.
Arnold capitalised in the first few minutes, scoring whilst the boys were getting used to the conditions. Basford pulled one back soon after, with Alijah making a good run from defence to score his first goal of the season.
The game would finish a 1-1 draw with the woodwork saving Basford 4 times in the second half. A good display from Basford, especially in midfield and defence, and Eben being unfortunate not to score late in the second half after narrowly missing.
Man of the match went to Alijah for another strong performance from our captain.
We go again next Saturday at home to Southwell.

Rainworth 4 – 2 Basford United Under 9
Basford U9s lost at Rainworth despite having enough chances but just couldn't find the back of the net.
