Martin Carruthers commented:
“It is a huge game for us and we want to kick start 2019 with a home win to get us up and running again.
“It is a real six pointer and we want to avenge our defeat in the first game of the season. It will be a tight affair and they also play on 3G so there should be some good football on show.
“The last five weeks have been nothing short of a disaster in relation to injuries, suspensions and poor results. Losing Jack Thomas and Ciaran Keane through suspension for Saturday’s game is a blow but we could have Lewis Carr, Jerry Nash and Liam Hearn back in contention which would be a welcome boost.
“Zak Goodson should also be back following his illness so let’s hope other players get through this week unscathed. Courey Grantham should be available again for South Shields and then we will be virtually back to full strength and be in a position to make a real push for the play offs.
“Young Kole Lambert is off to Norwich City for 10 days and hopefully he can secure his dream of making it back to the professional game. Good luck Kole from all at Basford.
“Once we have assessed everyone at Thursday night training we can then look at the team and formation in readiness for this big game.”
The last time the sides met was in the first game of the season, Hyde winning 1-0 thanks to a goal from Chib Chilaka.
