The best way to keep up to date with Basford United Football Club

Two out of Two - Notts up next

1 week ago By Neil McGowan

Basford United made it two wins from two pre-season games by beating Long Eaton United 5-2.

At a very hot Greenwich Avenue Liam Hearn opened the scoring after 14 minutes following good work by Liam Bateman. Courey Grantham doubled the lead with a fine finish on the half hour.

Andy Todd pulled one back for Long Eaton, but Hearn restored the two goal advantage on the stroke of half time.

It was all change at half time as a Basford team wearing the all white kit and featuring a number of triailists took the field for the second half.

Rakeem Reid scored Long Eaton's second two minutes into the scsond period, but Basford hit back with goals from Harry Wakefield and "CJ" a trialist from Australia.

There were several impressive performances from the trialists - shall we see more of them?

The games keep on coming and on Tuesday we host Notts County at Greenwich Avenue, kick off 7.30.

Admission fo this game is: Adults £7, Over 60s / Students £5, Under 16 £2
