First Team manager Martin Carruthers (pictured, left) is looking forward to the challenge of a new season, saying:

“We’ve kept the core of our best players and brought in some key additions that will improve us. It’s thanks to the Chairman we managed to recruit quality players of the calibre of Dom Roma, Laurie Wilson and Liam Hearn.
“With the re-signings of Matt Thornhill and James Reid we sent out a real signal of intent to the rest of the league. They are fantastic signings and not only bring real quality, but also vital experience and valuable leadership skills. They will be pivotal in our push for promotion this season."

Michael Leslie (pictured, right) is preparing for his debut as Community manager and said:
“I would like to thank the management team and club officials for offering me the role as the Basford Community FC First Team Manager. As well as this, the welcoming reception from the club as a whole during pre-season has been overwhelming.
“Alongside the vastly experienced management team of Mark Clarke and Willis Francis, I have been very impressed with the club's young talent. We are hoping to share our tactical knowledge and experiences with the squad, not only for our players to progress individually but collectively as a team.
“The players are starting this season's campaign full of confidence following some great performances during our pre-season schedule. This has not only impressed myself, but First Team manager Martin Carruthers who has in return, rewarded some players with first team appearances already. The club is committed to providing pathways for our talented young players which is something I am very proud to be a part of.
“I am very excited to see what the 2017/2018 season has to offer and we will be working hard to ensure it is a successful year.”
