The best way to keep up to date with Basford United Football Club

Linnets at the Avenue Saturday

3 weeks ago By Neil McGowan

Basford United host Kings Lynn Town on Saturday in a pre-season friendly (3.0).

It will be the Norfolk based club's first visit to Greenwich Avenue.
Kings Lynn will be playing in the Southern League Premier Division Central this coming season, which is Step 3, the same as we shall be playing in.

Last season the Linnets finished runners up to Hereford in the Southern League Premier Division, gaining 100 points and scoring 99 goals. They lost 2-1 to Slough Town in the promotion play-off final in front of a near 3,000 crowd.

Martin Carruthers said:

"Kings Lynn are a very good side who wil give us a real test. They were unlucky not to get promoted last time around after finishing runners up to Hereford and are likely to bring a good few supporters.

"We are now looking to firm up our squad as we get closer to the league kick off. The players know that places are up for grabs and we will be looking at performances against the likes of Kings Lynn."

Admission; Adults £7, over 60s / Students £5, Under 16 £1, families £15 (up to two adults and two children).
Basford season ticket holders free of charge.
