The best way to keep up to date with Basford United Football Club

Lambert hits the winner

1 week ago By Neil McGowan

Kole Lambert was on target with the winner as Basford won 1-0 at Brighouse Town today.

Lambert became the latest product of the Basford Academy to take his place in the first team and it didn’t take him long to make an impact, scoring after 16 minutes with a neat finish.

It was a good solid peformance by the Basford side, who again showed some good attacking moves and will be slightly diappointed that they didn't add to their tally during a dominant second half.

It was another clean sheet thanks largely to a fine display in goal by Kieran Preston, who is finding his feet and gaining in confidence with the defence.

It was good to see Ash Grayson back in action after a long time out. He came on as a half time substitute and got through the second half wth no problems.

Basford: Kieran Preston, Liam Bateman (Fernando Bell-Toxtle), Ellis Storey (Lewis Carr), Deon Meikle, Dom Roma, Fernando Bell-Toxtle (Yohan Beraki), Jack Broadhead (Ash Grayson), Harry Wakefield, Kole Lambert (Josh Thomas), Jack Thomas.
Sub not used: Conor Bartle.
