Good win for Under 19s

8 months ago By Neil McGowan

Basford United Academy Under 19s beat Grantham 5-2 on Wednesday thanks to goals from Wakefield (2), Patterson (2) and Daws.

The result put them three points clear at the top of the National League U19 Alliance Division 'H'.

It was an excellent all round performance against a very strong Grantham side who had drafted in recent 1st team players Tom Curtis and Kevin Bastos, both very good players who caused us problems on the day.

Despite going 2-1 behind early in the second half the lads produced a spirited fight back to win the game and maintain the fine start to the league season and still sit top of the league.

This was very much a team performance and excellent work rate especially out of possession.
