Battle of the 3G as Utd entertain Bedworth Sat 3pm

9 months ago By Match reporter

Two inform teams go head to head tomorrow as Basford entertain Bedworth Utd at Greenwich Avenue 3pm ko

Unbeaten in 12 Basford United return to Evo Stik South League action this Saturday entertaining 8th placed Bedworth United. The visitors like Basford come into the game on a rich vein of form having won their last 3 in the league against good opposition and most notably knocking out premier Division Barwell out of the Integro League cup this midweek just passed. So Basford expect a tough game and given both teams are 3G based it adds a little more intrigue. Last season the points were shared on both home and away outings.

Commenting Manager Martin Carruthers commented ‘After an excellent win away at Leek we face another tough game against one of the in form teams in the league. This will be a very difficult game as Bedworth sit second in the table on current form over the last 6 games with 4 wins and 1 draw and only 1 defeat.
With most of the Basford senior starting 15 given the midweek off then hopefully all will come into the game well rested and recovered from a few slight niggles.
Basford squad for the game;

Basford squad: Deeney, Grayson, Meikle, Nash, Wilson, Carr, Roma, Thornhill, Fenton, Wells, Hearn, Reid, Austin, Wakefield, Grantham, Tabreham, Brown, Harrison.

Kick off is 3pm at Greenwich Avenue, Basford and the ground is accessible from local tram routes with the nearest Highbury Vale sitting just behind the ground.
