Basford United V Nantwich Town preview

1 month ago By Jonny Drake

Basford travel to Nantwich Town on Saturday 22 December (3.0) in the last fixture before Christmas as their run of difficult fixtures continues.

Nantwich are top of the table and are on a 6-game unbeaten run in the league. They are eleven points ahead of Basford however they have played three games more.

Basford manager Martin Carruthers said: “It’ another huge game and massive test for us after a run of games against some really good sides. We will be looking for a reaction from the players after the disappointing results against both Chesterfield and Farsley.

“Nantwich are top of the table, so we can’t be feeling sorry for ourselves. We need to get back to winning ways and it would be a massive achievement if we could get a result against the top side in the league!

“They are having a great season and are top of the league for a reason! They have some quality players, so we are going to need everyone raring to go come Saturday".
