Basford Chairman Chris Munroe Commenting “ I am delighted we have secured the appointment of (Chets) . Me & only me alone made the tough decision to change a very successful management pairing in Martin Carruthers & Mark Clifford who left a very good platform. At the time of changing managers, I vowed the next appointment would not be advertised, but be carefully selected & I have stuck to this. Steve Chettle was always that person, & despite taking a while to get this over the line delighted, we have finally got their. I believe the club is in really good hands with Steve and supported by some excellent people in Dom, Liam, Milo, Michael. I have no doubt in future years we could look back, that this was the most pivotal set of appointments in the club’s long history”

Steve Chettle commenting stated “ I am delighted to join Basford United & work closely with Liam & Dom & our existing backroom staff. I look forward to continuing to push Basford United Forward”
