Basford confirm 2 new signings prior to last nights game

1 year ago By Match reporter

Martin Carruthers added two exciting young players with real pedigree before last nights game.

Basford can confirm the signings of Jerry Nash & Aidan Austin who were both signed in time to feature in last nights Evo-Stik South game.
23 yr old Jerry Nash(Headline photo) is a central midfield with real pedigree and he stepped in with the injury to Laurie Wilson, to give a decent performance in last nights game including 1 fine effort 2nd half that was inches over. In his 4th year at Nottm Trent and currently doing his masters degree., Jerry was Influential in the promotion winning team to the BUCS Premier league last season. Previously he was 2 years as a scholar at Luton & has played non league at Bedford Town

21 year old Aidan Austin looks an exciting forward/winger who will increase Basford's attacking option since the release of Ben Hutchinson and the pending Operation for Coury Grantham.
Aiden's Previous clubs include Norwich City, Nike Academy , 2 years at Forest as a scholar and 1 year as a pro. Non league experience last season at AFC Sudbury. Aiden is a 1st year at Nottm Trent Uni. Again last night whilst it was a difficult game the youngster showed his promise delivering a superb low cross after showing his pace to break clear down the flank.

Manager Martin Carruthers is understandably excited with the additions and has brought them in to add serious competition for places. With youngsters striker Harry Wakefield & most recently Jacob Taberham seeing good 1st team minutes & the experienced player coach Rob Duffy building up minutes then the Basford squad has a very good balance of youth & experience.
Welcome to both new lads.
