The 2018-19 season has barely finished as Basford add real quality for 2019-20
Basford United are delighted to report the new signings of Josh Law & Callum Chettle in the early days of Preseason. 29 year old Josh Law signs from York City & will also double up as a FT coach on our Educational Football Educational Academy. Josh comes highly recommended after long stints at Alfreton & most recently York City. 22 year old Callum Chettle son of new Manager Steve Chettle signs from Alfreton Town. Callum has long been on our radar well before the appointment of Steve & the club narrowly missed out on taking him on loan last season, but finally clinched this signing in the last few days. Both differing types of midfielders then both will offer an excellent complement to our existing unit. With Josh also capable of playing at Full back then this also will offer versatility. Both lads come with recent experiences of Pro football with Josh at Motherwell & Oldham & Callum at Peterborough & we feel Callum at his age could quite easily re-enter the Pro game. Delighted to have both these lads on board as Basford carefully will select targets to bolster an excellent squad from 2018-19 that narrowly missed out on the Evo-Stik Playoffs but finished the season 10 games unbeaten. Both players will join an excellent existing core expected to return back to training on Steve Chettle 1st official day as Basford United FC Manager on 1st July.
