The First Team game at Cleethorpes Town was only called off an hour before the scheduled start, players and supporters having travelled to the Lincolnshire coast.
With the pitch having passed a 10.30 inspection, the party set off, but there was an unscheduled diversion as the bus developed a fault and had to be returned to the depot, with everyone having to move onto a different vehicle.
Ariival at the Cleethorpes ground was just before two o'clock, where the match referee had just completed an inspection and declared the waterlogged pitch unplayable.
The players held a training session on the adjacent 3G surface, then players and supporters who had travelled with the team headed into Cleethorpes for a walk on the sea front and a visit to some of the excellent fish and chip shops in the town.
Community's game at Sandiacre Town was postponed on Friday night, the St Gile's pitch being waterlogged.
